The role of the dietitian
Nutrition can have an important role in preventing cancer. Many studies have shown that certain components, such as anti-oxidants, in foods can fight against the effect of carcinogens.
If the cancer is already present, the dietitian can give all kinds of tips, in cases such as nausea after chemotherapy or during the recuperation. This, in order to maintain an optimal nutritional status. To do so, we may think of giving you dietary preparations. The dietitian is authorized to give these.
With what can we help you?
At each stage of the disease cancer we can give dietary advice based on your current eating and drinking patterns. We take your present symptoms and medication use into account and we can give practical tips, such as what to do when feeling nausea or tired. We do this so that your nutritional status remains optimal and so that you’re still as strong as possible. We can also monitor your body weight progress, so that we take timely action (if necessary). If a regular diet isn’t sufficient, we can also recommend specific dietary foods and arrange this for you.
