Healthy Food

Healthy food is characterized by a fully-fledged, balanced nutritional intake in which you won’t have any nutrient deficiencies. For example, check whether you have a healthy dietary intake using the table of recommended daily amounts. Or learn more about anti-oxidants, what are they exactly?

No food or ingredient is naturally 'healthy' or 'unhealthy'. The point is that your diet contains the necessary ingredients in the right proportion. 
In the Netherlands, many organizations are concerned with health in relation to food. Examples of such bodies are: the Nutrition Center, the Dutch Heart Foundation, the Stomach Liver Intestine Foundation and the Dutch Cancer Society. They each have their own guidelines for healthy food. These are broadly similar.
